Live To Be Useful; or, The Story of  Anne Lee and Her Irish Nurse, by Mrs. H. C. Gardner, publ. by T. Nelson And Sons, Paternoster Row 1859

Rare
This is a wonderful little faith-based mini pocket book, published by T. Nelson and Sons, Paternoster Row, in 1859, well-known for their religious books. This is the story of a disabled Annie Lee. Annie was a healthy child until being stricken at age eight by what sounds very much like Polio. Her religious teachings taught that this resulted from some evil within herself. She attended spiritual training to learn to overcome her pain; one way was to be useful, and so the story goes ...

Bound: embossed brown cloth w/ gold medallion and title. The spine is quite worn, and the binding is just holding on, but the pages are good, showing age coloring but readable.

Measures: 5 x 3
